Local Kent team

Kent's dedicated house rewire team

Most electricians do rewires occasionally, between smaller jobs. We've made it a specialism.

House rewires are large, involved projects. They require careful planning, a methodical approach across multiple days, and the experience to manage a whole property rather than just a circuit or two. That's the work we're set up to do well, and it's what our clients consistently come back to us for.

We work in both occupied and empty properties, taking care to keep your home safe and liveable throughout. We cover the full county too. A Victorian semi in Canterbury, a period property in Faversham, a larger family home in Maidstone. If it needs rewiring, we can handle it.

What to expect on a rewire

A clean, protected home throughout

We use M Class hoovers and full protective sheeting on floors and furniture throughout the project. Your home stays as clean and safe as we can keep it while work is in progress.

Realistic timelines

A standard 3 to 4 bedroom property can typically be rewired in 2 to 3 days, including a first coat of filling to leave the walls tidy. Larger properties take longer and we'll give you a specific estimate when we survey.

Staged working in occupied homes

Where you're staying in the property during the rewire, we work in stages to keep essential circuits running. We'll talk through the practicalities at the survey so you know exactly what to expect each day.

First coat of filling included

Where chasing is required, we apply a first coat of filling before we leave. If you want the full finishing service, plastering and decoration included, we can arrange that too.

"Such a brilliant, expert and consistently reliable company. We are a community of x6 flats and have always (many years) used Vero Group for All of our Electrical Needs. Even they managed to surpass their own high standards on a recent late Friday Afternoon working until 7-45pm that night in the cold, determined to fix a crucial failed pump and connections. They successfully completed this onerous job with good cheer and the best attitude we have ever encountered from any Tradespersons we have employed over the years. Highly recommended for any Electrical work, including Solar and Wireless Systems. Very reasonably priced and professional group of Technicians. Thank Very Much Jack and Crew, On behalf of the Management at Galley View."

Common questions about house rewires

How long does a full rewire take?

A 3 to 4 bedroom house typically takes 2 to 3 days. Larger properties may take longer. We'll give you a specific estimate at the survey stage.

Do I need to move out?

Not usually. We work in stages to keep some circuits live throughout and most clients stay in the property. We'll walk you through the day-by-day plan at the survey so there are no surprises.

Can you rewire before a renovation?

Yes. This is the ideal time. Getting the electrics done before the builders start means no chasing through finished walls later.

Will you need to chase the walls?

In most cases yes, though we keep it to the minimum required. We apply a first coat of filling before we leave, and can arrange full decoration if needed.

Do you offer a decoration service?

Yes. Our decorators can restore the property fully after the electrical work, including filling, plastering and painting. It's an optional add-on but removes the hassle of finding a decorator separately.

What is an RCBO consumer unit?

An RCBO unit gives each circuit its own individual protection, rather than grouping circuits under shared breakers. It also includes built-in surge protection. This means a fault on one circuit doesn't affect the rest of the house, and your appliances are protected from power surges. It's the current best-practice standard for domestic consumer units.

How do I know if my home needs rewiring?

Common signs include old rubber-insulated wiring, round-pin sockets, a fuseboard with rewireable fuses, frequent tripping, flickering lights, or a surveyor flagging the electrics. If you're unsure, we're happy to take a look.

Do you cover all of Kent?

Yes. Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Faversham, Sittingbourne, Ashford, Folkestone, Dover, Maidstone and surrounding areas.

What certification do I receive?

An Electrical Installation Certificate and Part P building control sign-off, required for insurance, property sale and rental compliance.
